HMS Project Stang 2008

First Stage

The first stage of our project is to completely remove the saleen body kit and replace it with both
factory Ford and some aftermarket body pieces. Below you will find some helpful how to of removing and
replacing body pieces on the 2005-2009 S197 Mustang.

We started with the front fascia
of our 2007 HMS project stang.

Here we remove the two top mounting
bolts which are located next to the
grille/headlamp area.

Next, we moved to the side of the fascia,
where there are three mounting screws.

Now we need to remove the fasteners
that hold in the front splash shield.

Simply slide out the splash shield.
There are two mounting nuts located
on the inside between the fender and fascia
that need to be removed.

Now you can carefully remove the front
fascia. Pull the cover off slightly, so you
can unplug the lamps before completely
removing the cover.

Now we need to remove the rivets
that that hold in the front turn lamps.

Remove the turn lamp and mounting
bracket and place it in the new fascia.

Install two new aluminum rivets
to hold in the turn lamps.

Our new take off GT bumper fascia
is now ready to be installed.

The factory bumper goes back
on in reverse fashion of removing.

There you have it. The GT front
fascia is back home!

On to the side skirts......

We start at the front of the skirt.
Remove the two push pins that go
into the rear splash shield.

The bottom of the side skirt
has eight christmas tree push
pins that need to be removed.

Here is the fun part.....removing
the urethane glue and double sided
tape between the skirt and body.

You think you used enough
saleen!!!!????
